All About Me
Hello, this is Rogelio Burboa. What you should know about me is that I am a retired US Marine who served 27 years in the military and am now a 7th Grade Science teacher at Crane Middle School, Yuma, AZ. I am aspiring to be a Vice Principal in the next five years.
I am a dedicated educator, coach, and retired military leader whose life reflects a deep commitment to service, discipline, and community. A retired Sergeant Major in the United States Marine Corps, Burboa served with distinction for over two decades, earning respect for his leadership, integrity, and mentorship. His military career was marked by global assignments and high-responsibility roles that shaped his focus on accountability, teamwork, and personal growth.
Following my retirement from active duty, I pursued higher education to expand his leadership capacity and professional development. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Park University and later completed a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management from Central Michigan University. These academic experiences enhanced his understanding of organizational systems, personnel development, and strategic communication—skills he now applies in his civilian roles.
I currently serve as a 7th grade science teacher at Crane Middle School in Yuma, Arizona, where I bring a structured, student-centered approach to learning. My ability to connect with students and manage the classroom with clarity and consistency is one of my strengths.
Outside the classroom, I am an active mentor and coach. I am a baseball coach for the Yuma Prospects, where I instill values of discipline, respect, and perseverance. My coaching philosophy emphasizes character as much as athletic ability, preparing young athletes for success on and off the field.
In my personal life I enjoy a variety of outdoor and physical activities. I am a passionate baseball player, enjoy swimming and scuba diving, which keeps me grounded and energized. I am a devoted husband to m wife, Lucy, and a proud father of four: Connor (7), Arisa (14), Brayden (16), and Ashlie (35). My family is the foundation of my motivation and joy.
Through military service, academic achievement, teaching, coaching, and fatherhood, Rogelio Burboa continues to impact lives with humility, excellence, and unwavering dedication to growth and service.
